Who we are

A small company, built on a bigger one.

near2me comes out of De Piano, the Auckland consultancy our founder Alex De Piano runs — described on its own site as AI-Powered Marketing & Automation, offering SEO, AEO, AI agents and digital strategy to New Zealand businesses.

That business started as one-on-one consultancy, grew into a family-run team, and works by handpicking specialists for each project rather than keeping a big permanent bench. near2me is what happens when that workshop gets pointed at one very specific customer: the self-employed tradie, instructor, walker or bookkeeper with no marketing department at all.

The agency takes on broad digital work — automation builds, AI agents, multi-market SEO. near2me does one thing, deliberately: the suburb-level website and local search presence that makes a local pro the obvious answer two streets away.

Same founder, same inbox. You can reach the whole company at hello@near2me.co, which is exactly the point of a small operation.

I built near2me because most local pros I met had a site that looked fine but never ranked where the real customers were searching — their own suburb. If you want to know whether this makes sense for your patch, just email me.

Why this exists

“Plumber Melbourne” is a knife fight. “Plumber Brunswick” is a conversation.

This is the argument the rest of the site keeps making, in one place. City-wide search terms are bought by whoever has the biggest ad budget; suburb terms are won by whoever already sounds like they live there. Every page we build is aimed at the second conversation — the one where someone needs help today, two streets from your driveway.

City-wide is rented, suburb-level is owned

Broad terms put you in a queue behind franchises and national lead-gen sites. Suburb terms have a fraction of the competition and far higher intent — which is where a new site can win in weeks rather than years.

A page for every suburb you actually work in

Dedicated suburb pages prove you know the area and give search engines exactly what a local searcher means. Real research per city — the housing stock, the weather, the phrases people type — not a template with the suburb name pasted in.

You keep the site and every lead it sends

No middleman, no commission on enquiries, no rented presence on somebody else’s platform. The domain, the pages, the content and the phone calls are yours — including if you ever stop working with us.

And we hold the line the other way, too: one pro per niche per core suburb. When your patch is taken, it’s taken — that is what keeps your suburb page yours.

How it works

From first email to first call, in six moves.

No mystery retainer, no “we’ll see what happens”. Here is the whole process, start to finish.

01

A free local review

Fifteen minutes, no pitch deck. We look at how you currently show up in your own suburbs and tell you what is there, what is missing and what is realistically yours to win.

02

One fixed price, in writing

You get the exact build price before we ask you for anything, based on how many suburbs you want to own. No hourly meters, no surprise extras, no commission on the leads that come after.

03

Built in about 7 days

A fast, mobile-first site: a page for every suburb on your patch, a review engine, enquiry forms and content that sounds like you rather than like a template. Live in about a week, loading in under a second.

04

Google gets the picture

Suburb pages plus a Google Business Profile tune-up and LocalBusiness and Service schema carrying your real service areas — so the map pack and the city-wide listings both know exactly who you are and where you work.

05

Written to be read — by machines too

Plain answers, structured data, suburb-level detail. The same machine-readable groundwork that helps Google also helps AI assistants cite you as the direct answer, which is standard work at the parent agency (AEO, or Answer Engine Optimisation).

06

Optional promo, no handcuffs

An optional monthly plan keeps the pages climbing: a new suburb page or job write-up, a Google Business post, a review-request batch and a directory clean-up — timed around your season. Cancel whenever; the site stays yours.

Where we work

Two markets live. Two being drafted.

The cities below are the ones with real suburb research behind them. Where a market isn’t open yet, its pages stay noindex and out of the sitemap until they genuinely are — we’d rather under-promise than rank a promise.

In the meantime the playbook travels: if your customers search by suburb, register your patch and we’ll map the demand where you work.

FAQ

Questions about us, answered.

So who exactly is near2me?

One small company in Auckland, New Zealand, and one name you already see at the bottom of our pages: Alex De Piano, the founder. near2me is the focused product of De Piano, Alex’s AI-powered marketing and automation consultancy — the same workshop, aimed at one specific customer: the self-employed pro who works locally.

Are you an agency, or a platform?

Neither, and that is the point. A lead-generation platform rents you visibility and takes a cut of the enquiries; a directory buries your name under nine competitors. We build the site, hand you the keys, and stay out of the middle: the domain, the site, the content and the leads are yours — 100%, no lock-in contracts, no platform fees on your enquiries.

Where are you based, and where do you work?

Auckland. We work in New Zealand and Australia — the pages here cover 13 cities and 13 niches. We only list markets we are actually working in.

Do you guarantee page one?

No — anyone who guarantees it is selling you a calendar. What we control is the work: suburb pages with real local research, structured data Google can read, a review flow and a monthly cadence. The home-page FAQ puts most client movement at 4–12 weeks in Google, depending on how busy the niche and city are, and hyperlocal suburb pages usually climb faster than broad city-wide terms.

I already have a website. Am I wasting your time?

Not at all. Your near2me site can work as your local lead engine alongside whatever you have now — or become the main site if you would rather start clean. Bring it to the free review and we will tell you which one makes more sense.

Say hello to the people who’ll build your pages.
